At AXIS, I work independently on complex system components while collaborating with a large, fully remote, international agile team. We build and maintain catastrophe modeling systems that enable our underwriters to price (re)insurance risks around the world.
AXIS gave me the opportunity to work in many different roles on the team. Which included:
- Working with extremely large data sets both within SQL and .NET with performance always a top focus.
- Working with asynchronous operations in complex multi threaded environments.
- Refactoring old/bloated SQL logic into faster .NET solutions.
-
Extensive UI/UX work:
- Created a brand new, responsive UI for our main product offering.
- Created several portals and dashboards to allow both our development teams and our underwriters to gain visibility into the risk modeling process.
- Working with CI cloud deployments in Azure
- Source control in both TFS and Git
- Working within a high performance, very experienced team, developing and maintaining business critical software.
